MENA Startups Raise $83.6 Million Across 42 Deals in July as UAE Leads Regional Venture Capital
MENA startups raised $83.6 million across 42 funding rounds in July, led by the UAE, while fintech, gaming, healthtech, and e-commerce startups attracted fresh investor interest.
Startups across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) closed July with a solid fundraising performance, securing $83.6 million through 42 investment deals, underscoring the resilience of the region's venture capital ecosystem despite ongoing global economic challenges.
According to the latest data from Digital Digest, the United Arab Emirates dominated regional investment activity, accounting for both the largest share of funding and the highest number of completed transactions.
UAE Leads Regional Investment Activity
The UAE attracted approximately $54.01 million, representing 64.6% of all startup funding raised across the region during July.
Saudi Arabia ranked second with $10.70 million, accounting for 12.8% of the total, followed closely by Syria, which secured $10.12 million, or 12.1%.
Egypt placed fourth after startups raised $6.52 million, representing 7.8% of total regional investments, while Morocco and Qatar collectively attracted the remaining $2.26 million, equivalent to 2.7% of overall funding.
UAE Also Tops Deal Volume
The UAE also led the region in the number of completed funding rounds, recording 16 investment deals, or 38.1% of all transactions.
Saudi Arabia followed with 14 deals (33.3%), while Egypt secured six deals (14.3%). Syria completed three funding rounds (7.1%), and Qatar recorded two deals (4.8%).
WhiteShield Closes Largest Funding Round
WhiteShield emerged as the largest fundraising success of the month after closing a $15 million investment round, making it the biggest single deal completed across the MENA region in July.
Fintech and Emerging Technologies Continue to Attract Investors
Among the month's notable transactions, UAE-based multi-asset brokerage platform Epic Markets raised $10 million in a seed funding round led by Karatage.
Founded in 2026, the company develops advanced trading tools and brokerage services designed for retail investors as it expands its presence in the digital trading market.
Meanwhile, UAE startup Bundle, which specializes in Web3-powered rewards solutions, secured $5.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Ethereal Ventures and Further Ventures, with participation from Nascent, GSR, Scenius Capital, Anchorage Digital, Nuwa Capital, and several additional investors.
The company enables brands to pool customer incentive budgets into shared rewards programs, reporting conversion rates up to four times higher than traditional marketing campaigns during its pilot phase.
Egyptian Startup Fincart Raises $2.8 Million
Egyptian e-commerce enablement startup Fincart secured $2.8 million in seed funding through a round co-led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP.
The investment also included participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Venture Labs, and a number of additional investors.
The company plans to use the capital to accelerate growth and expand its technology solutions for the e-commerce sector.
Saudi Gaming Startup Secures Fresh Investment
Saudi Arabia's Ash Games raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by Merak Capital and Impact46 through the Merak Gaming Fund.
The investment will support the studio's plans to develop new gaming titles and strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding digital gaming industry.
Qatar and Syria Also Record Startup Funding
In Qatar, personal finance platform GRO Solutions completed a seed funding round led by GrowthX Capital, although the financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, Syrian healthtech startup Doctorbook secured $16,000 in pre-seed funding from a group of angel investors to support product development and expand its digital healthcare services.
Regional Venture Capital Remains Resilient
Despite ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty, July's fundraising figures highlight continued investor confidence in the MENA startup ecosystem, with fintech, e-commerce, gaming, Web3, and health technology remaining among the region's most active investment sectors.
