Meta Launches 'Seller' App to Help Facebook Marketplace Merchants Manage Sales
Meta has introduced the Seller app, a dedicated platform that gives Facebook Marketplace sellers AI-powered tools to manage listings, inventory, customer messages, and sales performance.
Meta has unveiled Seller, a new application designed to help Facebook Marketplace merchants manage their businesses more efficiently through dedicated selling tools and AI-powered features.
The launch reflects Meta's broader strategy to strengthen Facebook Marketplace and better compete with established e-commerce platforms such as eBay, while improving the buying and selling experience across its ecosystem.
Built for Marketplace Sellers
According to Meta, the Seller app integrates directly with users' existing Facebook Marketplace accounts, automatically syncing product listings, customer conversations, and sales history.
The application is designed to simplify day-to-day selling operations by providing merchants with a centralized platform to manage their business activities.
AI-Powered Selling Tools
Seller includes a range of artificial intelligence features aimed at improving productivity and streamlining the selling process.
Key features include:
AI-powered tools for creating product listings.
A unified inbox for communicating with buyers.
Inventory management tools.
Sales performance analytics and business insights.
These capabilities are intended to help sellers create listings more quickly, monitor inventory efficiently, and better understand their business performance.
Expanding Facebook Marketplace
Meta launched Facebook Marketplace nearly a decade ago in response to growing buying and selling activity within Facebook Groups.
The marketplace has since become one of the company's major commerce platforms, generating revenue through promoted product listings and attracting significant user engagement.
According to Reuters, approximately 430 million products are listed on Facebook Marketplace every month worldwide, underscoring its position as one of the largest online consumer marketplaces.
Initial Availability
Meta said the Seller app is currently available for iPhone users in the United States aged 18 and older.
The company is also testing a web version for users who download the application, with broader availability expected to follow as testing progresses.
New Verification Features
Alongside the Seller app, Meta has also introduced Facebook Verified, a free verification badge designed to confirm that an account belongs to a real individual.
The verification process includes a selfie-based identity check, part of Meta's ongoing efforts to improve authenticity, trust, and safety across its platforms.
The announcement follows another recent product launch by the company. In May, Meta introduced Forum, a dedicated application for Facebook Groups users, as it continues expanding specialized tools across its social platforms.
